Back again with a useful and interesting new mobile app, “Clean My Coach“. These days so many apps are being launched by our government but I think this “Clean My Coach” app is the best and the most needed one for all the railway passengers. This app made the train travelling a lot more hygienic. Our Rail Minister, Sh. Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu is attempting to keep up with the Prime Minister’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, launching the clean my coach app through which each and every passenger travelling by Indian Railways is allowed to message the cleaning staff of railways to clean a specific coach while travelling.

The passengers need to lodge a complaint via a mobile phone or online and the cleaning will be done in the next 15 minutes.  A passenger can lodge the complaint with his/her PNR no.

A new website will soon be launched by the central railway through which speedy cleaning of coaches and toilets of long distance trains. This facility is currently available in 1297 trains and the number is keep on increasing. The On Board housekeeping Service (OBHS) includes scheduled cleaning twice a day while the unscheduled cleaning can be done at any time on demand of passenger.

Passengers travelling in Indian railways can also get their coaches cleaned by sending a text message to 58888 by typing CLEAN <Space> <10 digit PNR no.>. The software then forward the request further to the cleaner’s mobile phone present in that train directly. And also the railway administration receive an intimation of that request simultaneously for the follow up.

Actually, this scheme is part of the Rail Budget 2016-17 proposal and till now the request served through this plan is around 18775. According to the officials, the ministry is planning to make this scheme wider.

This one I think is the much needed step which the Rail Minister took to improve the Indian Railways Infrastructure and will be going to benefit the passengers and as well as the ministry for sure. I really appreciate Sh. Suresh Prabhu for making such a good plans for the Rail development.
